About The Conference
The ICESAA conferences focus on effects of aromaticity and antiaromaticity in electronically excited states and high-spin (Baird-aromatic) ground states. Topics discussed at the conference span from fundamental investigations of excited state aromaticity (ESA) and antiaromaticity (ESAA) in a variety of different molecules to the applications of the concepts in areas that range from astrochemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry to photovoltaics and soft materials. The vision and mission of the ICESAA conferences are to catalyze the creation of a new research community at the interface between aromaticity research and photochemistry, and that includes both theoretical/computational chemists and experimental chemists. One goal is to initiate interdisciplinary constellations that start new collaborative projects. We strive to make the conferences attractive and inclusive both to those entering the ESA & ESAA research area and to those that have worked in it for longer times. Thus, all researchers interested in ESA & ESAA effects are welcome to participate in the ICESAA conferences and to push the research frontiers in this growing area forward to new realms.
